We enjoy promoting the Friesian breed through exciting shows and other events!
For the FEA, it's all about the horses.
Who we are:
We are friesian owners and enthusiasts who enjoy our horses in many ways:
Cindi Spear owns Black Thunder Friesians, a Friesian breeding and general boarding facility in Buxton, ME, with her husband Shawn.
She has owned Friesians for over 10 years. They currently own four Friesians and an older Standarbred gelding (31 yrs!).
In addition to producing 1-2 high quality foals each year, the Spears enjoy showing their Friesians in dressage and pleasure shows,
educating others on the Friesian breed and trail riding when they can squeeze it in. They are members of FHANA, MHA,
SMDA and NEFHC. Cindi is also a past president of the NEFHC and held a variety of other positions on the NEFHC board for
6 years.
Terri Ray resides in Marshfield, MA, with five horses: a Friesian, 3 quarter horses and a Friesian Paint. She owns Don
Ray Insurance Agency where she provide Equine Insurance coverage. Terri has been successful in many riding disciplines including
Eventing, Western Pleasure and Hunter Pleasure. In Hunter Pleasure, Terri and her Friesian Waling achieved 2 FHANA World
Championships, a NEFHC East Coast Championship and an IFSHA nationals. She has been very involved with many commitees and board
positions including MQHA, MHC, NEFHC (President for 7 years), FHANA and the USEF Friesian rules committee. She brings her experience,
knowledge and passion to promote and give back to the breed which has given her these great opportunities and successes.
Rick Drew has been announcing horse shows for over 17 years and managing shows for the last 5 years. Known for his enthusiasm
as an announcer and show manager, Rick now brings that same psitive attitude with him to the FEA. He does not own or ride horses
but appreciates the power, beauty and elegance. He is the President of the American Saddlebred Association of Maine. Rick
was also brought up in a race car family and therefore, likes horsepower, not just the four legged kind!
Jen Grady, along with her husband and family, owns and operates Acorn Hill Farm, a training and boarding facility for all breeds
in Whitefield, ME. The main focus at Acorn Hill is good training and horsemanship and having fun with their horses, which includes
showing/dressage, natural horsemanship and lots of trail riding . They own Friesians, Friesian Sport Horses and Appendix
Quarter Horses. Jen is thrilled to be a part of the FEA and looks forward to getting Friesian horses even better show venues.
Scott & Debbie Thomas own Fabled Friesians in CT and currently own five Friesians. They show in dressage and pleasure
shows. Scott and Debbie are both past members of the NEFHC and held positions on the board from 2006 - 2009.
